The GCA Way
At Godmanchester Community Academy, our values of Kindness and Hard Work sit at the heart of everything we do. These values are brought to life through The GCA Way – our shared approach to behaviour, attitudes and character.
The GCA Way sets out the behaviours and habits we expect our pupils to show every day, helping them to grow into thoughtful, respectful and resilient individuals. By explicitly teaching and modelling qualities such as kindness, gratitude, respect and politeness, we support children to develop positive habits that shape how they see themselves and how they contribute to our school community.
Our approach to behaviour is rooted in our Valued Behaviour Policy, ensuring that expectations are clear, consistent and fair for all. We believe every child can succeed when they are supported to understand and practise positive behaviours. This approach is strengthened by Cambridgeshire Therapeutic Thinking, which helps us respond to behaviour with empathy, understanding and reflection – supporting pupils to learn from challenges and make positive choices.
Together, these frameworks help pupils build strong character, positive relationships and the resilience to thrive both in school and beyond.
