We understand that families may be feeling anxious and worried during this unknown period.  This section of the website will include links and resources aimed at reducing anxiety and promoting mental health.

Cambridgeshire and Peterborough: have put together a wide range of websites and resources for parents, carers and children.  It is designed to stop you searching through lots of different documents, with lots of information. 

The Mindfulness Initiative: a page which contains a pdf document which contains a list of free mindfulness resources particularly intended for those staying at home through a time of crisis. 

A Book of Hopes: a collection of short stories, poems, essays and pictures to comfort, inspire and entertain children in lockdown.

Talking to your child about coronavirus

National Centre for Children and Families: clear, simple advice to all those who are supporting children and young people.

Nosy Crow: a free downloadable book illustrated by Alex Scheffler which explains what the virus is and how to stay safe. 

Covibook: produced by Mindheart, this book is aimed at children 7 and aims to reassure and support.  The book is available to download in a range of languages.

BPS: The British Psychological Society highlights the importance of talking to children about COVID-19

Dave the Dog and Coronavirus: Dave the dog Is worried about Coronavirus. Ms Watts said she wanted to give children "information without fear". The book tells the story of an owl called Nurse Dotty who explains coronavirus to Dave the Dog, which includes giving young readers tips on how to avoid the virus and prevent its spread.

Dealing With Anger During Lockdown:  this cartoon aims to help children understand their emotions by discussing how our brain works. It is aimed at older children (KS2 and older) but younger children may enjoy watching the cartoons. 

The following videos focus on dealing with anger which is typically drive by underlying anxiety.
