Year 5 Ancient Greek Day

On the 16th October, it was Ancient Greek Day in Year 5.

Fun activities were held and delicious treats were served by our slaves! We watched each other perform plays such as Pandora's Box and The Medusa. As well as that, we were entertained by singing and dancing groups. We enjoyed a typical Athenian apprenticeship and made things such as wax tablets, oil lamps, charm bracelets, mosaics and herbal remedies. We offered all of these to the goddess Athena to help us win the Battle of Marathon. She must have been impressed with our efforts because our Greek army of only 10,000 soldiers easily beat the Persian army of over 20,000! Ancient Greek day was a lot of fun".
